I met up with my friends and colleagues (different days) for dinner at Thai Express. Haha, I actually love the chendol drink from Thai Express.
Haha, not sure if I will get sick of Thai Express. Actually the thai food at Thai Express is not very nice but they have good desserts…

I went to Artbox when it is in Singapore a few weeks ago. It was much better than last year. Last year was so crowded and there was no crowd control at all. This year, there were bag checks and some form of crowd control. The space rented is much bigger as well. I managed to get some wooden keychains for myself and a cute handmade crotchet keychain. I love crotchet keychains, or just about anything that is handmade. Haha. Is it just me or do you guys love handmade stuff too?
I went there twice – first with Alex and Jin Quan, second with Hui Keng and Yi Wei. Took some photos and was surprised to see quite a number of people bringing their DSLRs taking photos too. Oh, and the usual selfie crowd as well. Somehow carnivals are no longer as nice as before. It’s more commercial-driven decorations (towards Snapchat, Instagram, and other social media platforms) rather than the actual fun. It’s not as nice to take photos in carnivals when you see a sea of people whipping out their phones to take photos instead of enjoying the food and games…
I have been blogging for more than 17 years (well, I started in 2001) and this new wave of social media kind of got me off guard. I am not a fan of posting my selfies on social media for strangers to comment and judge me. But I do love posting photos of the stuff and scenery I saw. I love taking photos and sharing some of what I took. I also have a brand name (lihotography) dedicated for my photography works.
Anyway, I have scheduled my photos to be posted on Instagram in the next few days. Once it is posted on Instagram, I will post them here for you guys to enjoy. Photos are below for you guys to enjoy!
And of course some dinner at Ding Tai Fung!

I went to visit Jing Mei at her Facebook office at Marina One. It’s a pretty cool looking office and I took some photos too. Haha. Literally everywhere is a good Instagram portrait place at Facebook. Haha.
It makes me feel like working there because of free lunch and the nice looking working environment though. Too bad they are not hiring for security related roles…
Of course, I had free lunch at Facebook too! Yay for free lunch which I missed dearly after I left Uber…
Many thanks to Jing Mei for giving me a tour of her new office.

Finally another meetup with Randumps. So glad that I managed to meet them even when everyone is busy working and most are busy dating.
We went Ramen Champion for dinner before heading for some darts game. It’s my first time playing darts and as expected, my aiming really sucks. There are several times when the darts went out of the board.
I definitely need more practice in playing darts…

One of my ex-colleagues from Autodesk, Mubashir, came to Singapore for his business trip (he’s from India, by the way). I have always worked with him over phone or Skype and it’s interesting to actually meet him face to face for the first time.
It was kind of funny because I only realised that I won’t be able to recognise him at the time when we are meeting. Yeah the realisation is slow. I know I can’t really recognise him and he may not know his way that well. So I decided to meet at the nearest train station of the hotel where he was staying. Turns out that it wasn’t such a wise choice because the train station is crowded. It’s not as crowded as the usual since we met on a weekday. Nevertheless, that moment when I realised I don’t have his photo on Whatsapp and have to go to his Linkedin to see his photo so that I can recognise him is pretty funny for myself.
Anyway, he looked different from the profile photos on the office Skype (when I was still working at Autodesk). Well, people do change. After all, he is already married with a kid ever since 2014 when we first started working in the same team.
As a host, I recommended him to Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao restaurant since he mentioned that he wanted to try Chinese food.
Well, I love food from Crystal Jade but never tried the chili crab xiao long bao personally. Well, it’s awesome! Would I order it again? Definitely yes!
Knowing the type of Chinese food that my Indian friends like, I recommended him to try the Kungbao Ji Ding (basically spicy chicken with cashew nuts). This is the fried chicken version which I have not seen before…
