After 2 years, I have finally finished using my Le Labo Citron 28 perfume. I went back to MBS branch to get the refill and got a shock of how much it costs. It is S$432 to refill the 50ml bottle. I immediately felt that I am really very expensive. Why is my signature and favourite scent so expensive? š®
Then I went to check how much I paid for it when I first brought it. It was S$475. Okay, so I actually save S$43 for refilling it. Itās only their City Exclusives series that is so expensive and of all scents, I love their Seoul City Exclusive. Oh well.
Anyway, that means I should use more of my cheaper perfumes from brands like Jo Malone and Hermes instead of Le Labo.

Hello to my new iPhone 16 Pro. Whee!!! I ordered it on 9 October night when it got restocked and collected it on 10 October. Then I got my new phone case and screen protector from Casetify today. Iām so excited because it is my first time splurging on Casetify. Their cases are like so expensive. Then I got the original Hello Kitty ones. Hehe! First time getting the original Sanrio Hello Kitty phone case. Iām like over 30 years old and is only willing to splurge so much on my favourite Hello Kitty phone case now. š
The Casetify screen protector is also very expensive. I wanted to get my screen protector from my usual shop but the shop at Cathay Cineleisure has closed down. š I donāt have time to go Sim Lim Square and Casetify today and no time to get them tomorrow so I just get the screen protector from Casetify as well. Wanted to get their Ultra HD but it is over S$80 and I really cannot bring myself to spend so much for a screen protector. In the end, I went for their Anti Blue Light range. Well, my spectacles is already anti blue light so it is a bit funny to use anti blue light screen protector. But for the same price, I didnāt want to get the normal clear screen protector and I donāt like that my screen will look darker with privacy screen protector, so I compromised and got the anti blue light one. Oh well. I shall tell myself not to change the screen protector and protect the phone from dropping so that I donāt damage the screen protector.
The total damage of the phone case and screen protector? S$163. Ouch, my wallet is hurting. My heart is aching a little too. Not to forget that my phone is like S$2049 since I upgraded to 512GB.
It felt like a huge jump from my iPhone 13 Pro and I was trying to get used to it. Definitely loving the camera side button for sure. I have to say that button is really what attracted me to change my phone. I like that it is lighter than my iPhone 13 Pro too. By like 5 grams hahaha.
I was sharing with my therapist about it and how I momentarily felt guilty for spending so much money. Lasted for 2 secs to be honest haha. Then she taught me a way to logically and rationally make sense of it. I need to practise the mindfulness. I need to recognise that some type of expenses is necessary and I need to make sure that I am in a good position to spend and not feel guilty about it.
On a side note, I donāt think I will want to change phone again until I am forced to – like when there are no more OS upgrades. Moving my data and re-login to a new phone is very troublesome. Itās even worse when you have more data too. May my phone last for a long, long time!
I went for my violin class yesterday and managed to try out a new violin and learned about how to pick violins suitable for myself. No plans to change violin though but there is a new violin for sale so I managed to try it. I can feel my current violin looking at me aggressively when I tried the other violin. Jealousy violin is a real thing hahaha. Or just violin mum guilt?
Anyway, it was a mellow sounding violin that was over 200 years old. Apparently her friend got it for her kids for $21,000. I think it should be in Singapore dollars. She is moving house and is selling it for $15,000 now. My teacher let me try it and see how I feel about it. I played the Beethoven Romance in F first movement for the first few bars and didnāt like how depressing it sounds. It makes me feel emotional too. Then I requested to try it again to play Schumann Fantasiestucke in first movement and it sounded better. I played the first few bars and I can still feel the depressed feeling from playing the violin. Then somewhere in the middle of the piece it felt better. However, the A string still sounded quite off to me. I still love my current violin which has a brighter sound and I donāt need to use too much power to play it. However, it is quite an experience to play a mellow sounding violin for the first time. Can really feel the emotions from playing the violin.
As it is my first time playing the violin, it felt quite unfamiliar to me. I gained back the familiar feeling from my violin after I resumed playing on my violin. It feels as if my violin has a sense of familiarity. She knows when I will panic in some parts of the pieces and it will try her best to help me get past the difficult passages in the music.
I donāt think I will change my violin but I do hope to get more involved in music performances in future. My violin is not being used as often as previously and itās a sad thing.
My teacher told me a lot of professionals love to use mellow sounding violin as it gives character and can help to tone down the strength of the violin sound since the professionals usually play very strongly. My style is not that strong/loud so a brighter violin works well for me.

I had a catch up with one of my colleagues after a long time over lunch on Friday and she was sharing about renovation for her current place as well as properties in general. I went to Ashleyās place for dinner catchup on Friday evening and we were talking about property investment in Indonesia, India and Singapore. I went to Lynnās housewarming on Saturday afternoon and again, the topic on properties came up again.
Wow, have I reached the age whereby it is normal and very common to talk about properties or am I just attracting the same topic again and again? Hmmā¦
I guessā¦ Welcome to the new era where every social gathering will cover the topic of property and asset accumulation? Lololol.
Thatās also when you know you really is becoming olderā¦ I also noticed that I enjoyed just chit chatting with friends over a simple meal at their homes or just one of the homes. No need to go fancy cafe or anything to chat unlike in the pastā¦

I went to visit Hyundai Innovation Centre when I went to Na Oh restaurant for lunch with Zi Jian. Well, he brought me around for an unofficial tour since he works in Hyundai. Definitely a good catch up. I received tips on how to take care of the house and housework tips.
He invited me to see his temporary home as he is currently staying with his inlaws. Itās a really nice dual key condo apartment at a high floor with really good city view of Singapore.
It was also my first time seeing how a robot vacuum is running. Quite impressed by it and Iām excited to be getting one in future. š
