I’m still trying to get used to the new WordPress editor when I am typing my blog posts on laptop. It’s quite different from the old editor and I haven’t been blogging much on laptop. So it feels a bit odd and I need more time to get used to it.
Work has been hectic and my violin pieces/studies are getting tougher. I wish I have more time to practise them.
On a bright side, I have been exercising every week. Well, at least once a week – either yoga or running. It’s important to keep a healthy lifestyle so that I don’t regret in future. That means I should be sleeping early too but sadly that’s something that I have yet to achieve… My colleague was telling me about 1 colleague who recently passed away due to heart attack. He was in his late thirties or early forties. It’s very important to have a healthy lifestyle and take care of yourself all the time. Having said that, I think I want to reduce my sugar intake, not just to lose weight but also to reduce the risk of getting diabetes or high blood pressure. Health is gold. No amount of money can buy you good health.
Anyway, time for me to brush my teeth and sleep earlier than usual. Health is gold and I should start letting my body rest earlier so that it can last longer…
Yay! I got a very happy Whatsapp message from my violin teacher today. I passed my violin Grade 8 exam! Yay!!! I am so glad that I passed now and even though it was a very bad score (like right on the dot of passing mark), I am still glad that I passed. So happy that my finger has recovered and is able to sustain the somewhat intensive exam preparation time. I didn’t dare to practise everyday because of my finger injury.
Now it is time to think through what I want to achieve next now that I finish all my graded exams from ABRSM. Maybe a DipABRSM next time?

Rui Yun got new iPhone XS and I took a look at it when I met her to go for mooncakes shopping. The portrait camera is nice but I think the bokeh is a bit too fake. Definitely not something that I would spend more. Furthermore, I don’t like the idea of Face ID too.
I’m happy with my iPhone 8 Plus and hope that it will last for a long time…
I think I overpractise today. My finger is feeling very tired and weird. I hope I don’t injure it again. Shall rest more tomorrow.
Oh, and Chin Hau is back from his business trip to Beijing. Whee! I get to see him after a week’s break. Oh that reminded me of our conversation on the new iPhone XR, XS and XS Max. Basically he was describing it as the new processor that is 7nm apart from source and drain (the mosfet in the new processing chip in the new iPhones). Oh things that my technical boyfriend would say and I wish that I don’t understand it at all. I really don’t like mosfet back in undergraduate days…
And it’s Mid Autumn Festival today (it has past 12 midnight now). Happy Mid Autumn Festival to those who celebrate it.
Whoa my violin exam is in 3 days and I hope I can pass. Intensive violin practice and last minute revision of expression. Okay, Tchaikovsky’s Scherzo piece is really tough with such rapid switches in dynamics. It makes it harder for me to control my bow. Oh, and my violin don’t sound as nice as previously. Seems like I really need to send it for servicing/maintenance soon. Maybe this weekend when my exam is over…
I think it’s time to change teacher but I hope I still manage to pass my violin exam this time round. Then I can think about changing teachers after I secured my Grade 8 certification.

Oops I went for a hiatus without informing everyone again. Well, I have been busy with violin, work and dating.
Things are fine at work and I am learning a lot of new stuff daily. Tons of work to clear but still manageable.
I probably need to send my violin for servicing/cleaning after my exam. It’s more than a decade and I think it deserves some tender loving care. Not sure how much it will be though. Hopefully not too expensive…
I realised how fat I have become and now really need to lose weight before I become overweight. So I have been watching my diet closely and reduce in eating on snacks. Went for core yoga class yesterday and power yoga class today. It is my first time going for yoga class 2 days in a row. Definitely one of the rare times when I go for yoga twice a week. I need to go more often to work out more and lose weights. Oh, do you know that an adult is recommended to have 150 mins of physical activity a week? I got to know it from the local news channel when they were interviewing Health Promotion Board in Singapore. So yup, that would be 3 yoga class a week. Hopefully I can keep up to the routine and lose some weight. I realised I lost 1 kg after 2 weeks. I just need to lose 2 kg more and I’m happy. That means 1 more month? Hopefully I can keep up to it.
Oh, and also regular blogging too! I will reply the comments when I use my laptop…
