I still haven’t recovered from my flu. In fact, I got a throat infection and it worsen 2 days ago. Went to see the doctor 2 days back and got antibiotics. I ended up taking sick leave yesterday and was quite bored at home. However, I managed to get more rest/sleep and is feeling much better now. I probably slept too much in the day time since I can’t sleep now. Oh well…
On a side note, the issue with Jetpack is still not fixed. Seems like some connection is blocked at the server end and no solution has been found yet. Hopefully a solution will be found soon.
Sometimes I wonder what I am doing at ViolinStar.NET. Well, I have this domain name for many years (more than 9 years to be exact…) and I still love the name. It started when I was in junior college with the name sweetpatronus.cn. I didn’t renew it because the renewal fees for .cn domains are expensive. So I decided to go for .com domain name. At that time the violinstar.com name was taken (I think it was not taken now) by some violin/music company. So I opt for the .net version. As it is slightly more difficult to promote a .net domain name at that time cause well, Google prefers .com over .net domain names in terms of page ranking and SEO stuff. So I decided to put “net” in caps in the hope that people will not mistaken my blog address to be violinstar.com. I guess over time, I have somehow establish some form of reputation with my online name (Sakura) and ViolinStar.NET. It is kind of similar to goodwill in IP Law terms except that I am not having a business at ViolinStar.NET.
Have you heard of ViolinStar.NET long time ago?
Well, I have quite a number of assignments, readings and class tests to clear in the next few weeks so I guess it is an appropriate time to declare hiatus. I will still be updating links for affiliates if they changed hosts. Just drop me an email or leave a note here and I will update your link on my mobile.
In the meantime, I doubt I will be updating my blog for the next 2 weeks. Maybe I will update my blog with short updates but won’t have time to return comments, etc.
This school semester has been difficult for me and I needed some alone time to catch up with my school work, personal life, music life and of course, corporate work.

Hoho it is my 2000th post on ViolinStar.NET! What an achievement indeed. I never thought that I will be able to blog for so long and so much on the same domain. Some of my blogger/online friends have changed domain names several times. We have known each other for many years even though we don’t really keep in contact. To my online friends, you know where you can always find Sakura and that’s always at ViolinStar.NET.
Anyway, I have set up SSL on ViolinStar.NET so now you can access my blog using https://violinstar.net. I have also redirect all traffic to http://violinstar.net to https://violinstar.net too.
That shall be ViolinStar.NET first step to contributing to a better security in this World Wide Web.
I think I have been blogging more frequently after spending so much time sorting out the moving to a new server. Well, I am paying the domain name fees every year so I should make full use of it right? Hahaha. But then again, I doubt many people are actually reading it. I am also growing sick of my current blog layout too. In fact, I am thinking of making a simple white background theme… Hmm. Maybe I can try to write my blog name “ViolinStar.NET” after my English calligraphy class and use it to make a new theme?
I’m getting sick of the current theme but I am feeling lazy to make a new theme too. I’m not going to pay someone to make a new theme for me either. Well, let’s see how things go. Maybe I will find a good photo that I took and use it to make a new theme? Or maybe I can get some inspiration and suddenly feel motivated to make the new theme? Or maybe I will just make small changes to the existing theme to make it better instead… Haha, let’s just see how things go…
Even after 8 years (going to be 9 years soon!), I still like the name “violinstar” and I still like the “.net” as the top-level domain. Well, guess that’s why I kept renewing the domain name and this blog somehow lasted for more han 8 years? It’s really rare for me to have the same URL for more than 8 years since I am the kind that likes to change web site names and build new web sites back in my school days. Now I am just feeling lazy and wants some downtime from computers basically. Don’t really want to see codes outside of work and school…
